The Transport


Our vehicles are DEFRA compliant and are issued with a Type 2 Animal Transport Authorisation Certificate. 

We always have a driver and a first aid qualified pet carer on each trip.

For reassurance for your pet, our cabs are open so they are visible to us, (and us to them), 

at all times.

What is provided


Our carriers all fitted out with thick fluffy vet bedding. Everything is provided for your pet for the journey: fresh drinking water, good quality food and litter trays for our feline passengers. 

If your pet has particular dietary needs*, or requires medication, then please address these issues on the booking form.

*Please note that if you are providing any food for your pet, it should only be enough for the duration of the journey and should be contained in zipped freezer bags, clearly labelled with the pet's name, owner and passport number.

The Journey


We travel through Portugal, Spain & France to the UK stopping regularly for walks, play time and cuddles! Our priority is to get your pets happily back to you, safely and quickly. Once your pets are in our care they are  part of our family. We always endeavour to keep in contact with you as much as possible during the trip as we realise they are your much loved family members who you may be feeling anxious about.

Sometimes we can be delayed, due to adverse weather or traffic conditions, or even due to other clients arriving late for collection appointments. In extreme cases, dates may have to be altered, to avoid political demonstrations or civil unrest en route within Europe.

Legal Requirement to Travel


Rules were changed on the 1st of January 2012, bringing UK requirements in line with the EU

  • pets must be microchipped
  • rabies  vaccination - this must be administered after the micro-chip "insertion  or reading" date.  A period of 21 days must lapse after initial vaccination and before entry to the UK. Subsequent boosters do not  require any waiting period
  • all pets require an EU Pet Passport which can be issued by your vet
  • all  dogs must be treated for tapeworm by a vet, who must document the  administration on the Pet Passport. The treatment must be given not  less than 24 hours before or 120 hours after arrival in the UK (1-5  days).  This treatment does not apply to cats or ferrets

Terms & Conditions

To  secure a reservation, a non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at  time of booking.  This amount will be retained for administration costs  in the event of a cancellation. Places cannot be guaranteed unless a deposit has been paid.

Full  payment must be made 10 working  days prior to collection.  

In  event of cancellation made more than 21 days before departure, a 75% refund will be given.

Cancellations  made 14 days or less before departure will not be entitled to a  refund.  Pets may be transferred to an alternative date at the  discretion of Euro Pet Transport Ltd, however this is dependent on availability and not guaranteed.

Clients must ensure that they select the correct travel crate for there  pets if the crate is too small the pet will be unable to travel and will be treated as a cancellation

Should  pets require emergency treatment during transport, all costs remain the  responsibility of the customer.  All reasonable measures will be taken  to obtain authorisation of the customer prior to treatment being sought.

The documentation of all pets must adhere to the latest DEFRA Passport control regulations.

Photos  of pets may be taken and displayed by Euro Pet Transport Ltd for marketing purposes. 

If clients are not willing, written notice must be provided at time of booking.

Whilst we will do our utmost to honour the travel dates and times advertised, very occasionally these may be subject to change, due to adverse weather conditions or events happening, over which we have no control.

Please ensure that you choose the correct size crate when booking , your pet must be able to sit upright & lay down . (choosing the wrong size crate may result in the pet not being able to travel) as to our terms & conditions.
